"Millage Rates Reflect Budget Crunch" from Tribune & Georgian
Residents will have three opportunities to speak to the Camden County Board of Commissioners about the county's plan to increase the taxes that it will levy this year.
On Friday, Camden County Board of Commissioners announced its intention to increase property taxes by not rolling back the millage rate, which will mean that more taxes will be collected this year from property owners than last year.
The county intends to increase property taxes by .88 percent over the rollback millage rate for county residents and 4.65 percent over the rollback rate for Woodbine tax district residents.

PROTEST SCHEDULED TO DENOUNCE MILLAGE INCREASES!!!!!
Camden County Tea Party Patriots is an off-shoot division of the Golden Isle Tea Party Patriot movement. Tea Party Patriots from all over the country are organizing against an every expanding government and unnecessary taxation hikes. Camden County's local political issues are really not that different than other areas of the country with regards to oppressive local government, state government and federal government spending, taxation and poor representation. If you are a Camden County, Georgia resident, please join this group. There is power in numbers and we need to affect change. Both political parties are ignoring the will of the people…AND WE WILL BE HEARD!!! Also, we will be aligning ourselves with the Camden Watch Dog group that has built an excellent way to "watch" our local government’s actions. Please go to there web site at http://www.camdenwatchdog.com to get up to date on local issues. We do not currently have a web site operation at this time, since we are newly formed group…but we will progress.
There are protests that are soon to be organized through the Camden County Tea Party Patriot movement and we invite all of the Camden Watch Dogs to join us in this fight. We have a shared interest in holding government accountable when they raise millage rates and taxes unjustly. We must let them know our displeasure and warn them that if they increase millage rates, they can count on loosing their seats in the next election. THEY WILL LOOSE!!!
*******Below are times for the up coming hearings…please be mindful that the notices that were posted in the Georgia and Tribune have discrepancies in times. This posting is out of the Wed, Oct 7th, 2009 issue. The Oct 9th issue gives a different time. We will call and verify times to make sure they are consistent. This could be a deliberate attempt to confuse the taxpayers about when these meetings are to be held. **************
